Airport lounges offer an extra level of service and comfort at the start of your flight experience. Air Canada passengers can enjoy complimentary drinks, snacks, showers, Wi-Fi and more at the airline’s Maple Leaf Lounge. The airline also has two other types of lounges.

There are many ways to gain access to Air Canada lounges, including through elite status, ticket types, credit card rewards, and cash payments.

Air Canada Signature Suite

The Air Canada Signature Suite is an exclusive lounge available to passengers travelling in eligible ticket classes (J, C, D, Z, P) on direct flights to Europe and South America.

There are currently two Signature Suites locations in Toronto and Vancouver. These Air Canada premium lounges offer complimentary sit-down meals, signature cocktails, upgraded seating, and a quiet space to relax or work.

Eligible reward tickets include Business Class Flexible Rewards and First Class Flexible Rewards.

Air Canada has introduced a new lounge at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (regional airport) to complement the existing Air Canada Café at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Both cafes offer complimentary drinks, a wide selection of coffees, hot and cold dishes prepared by local chefs, and premium alcoholic and specialty drinks available for purchase.

What is available at the Maple Leaf Lounge?

Lounge size and available amenities vary by location, but Air Canada aims to offer a basic level of benefits in all Maple Leaf Lounges, including:

  • Complimentary snacks and drinks will be provided.

  • A refreshing shower before or after your flight.

  • Business center with desktop PCs and printers.

7 ways to access Air Canada lounges

There are seven ways travellers can access Air Canada lounges: Some travellers can enter the lounge for free, while others must purchase a day pass.

1. Fly Business Class on Air Canada

When you fly Business Class with Air Canada, you’ll enjoy a variety of perks that make your trip even more enjoyable, including access to Maple Leaf Lounges when flying within North America.

2. Business Class flights on Star Alliance partner airlines

Air Canada is a member of Star Alliance, which means you can access the Maple Leaf Lounge when you fly business class on any Star Alliance partner flight – entry is free when you show your boarding pass for a qualifying flight on the day.

3. Get it United Club℠ Infinite Card

Air Canada offers several versions of the credit card in Canada, but only one Aeroplan card in the United States. Aeroplan® Credit Card Does not include Air Canada lounge access.

4. Earn Aeroplan 50K or higher status

Aeroplan elite status benefits include complimentary access to Maple Leaf Lounges for you, your immediate family and one guest when flying on Air Canada, Star Alliance partners or Emirates. Immediate family includes your spouse and up to five children under the age of 24.

To earn Aeroplan 50K status, you must spend $6,000 in Status Qualifying Dollars (SQDs) and earn 50,000 Status Qualifying Miles (SQMs) or fly 50 Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs) in a calendar year. Status is valid for the remainder of the year in which you earned it and into the following year.

5. Use your one-time Maple Leaf Lounge pass

Once you achieve Aeroplan elite status (starting at 25K), you’ll receive two or more one-time guest passes that provide access to Air Canada lounges. You can use the passes yourself or give them to someone else.

The number of One-Time Passes available at each level of Aeroplan Elite status is as follows:

  • 25K – 2 passes (if you use Select benefits).

  • Super Elite – 4 passes.

These passes provide access to the Maple Leaf Lounge to travellers with a confirmed same-day ticket on an Air Canada flight departing from select locations within Canada and the United States.

6. Get Star Alliance Gold status

Star Alliance Gold members can enjoy complimentary access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at their departure airport when travelling in any class on any member airline. Star Alliance Gold members can also invite one guest into the lounge free of charge if travelling on the same flight.

7. Buy a day pass

Air Canada also sells day passes when you travel with the airline. The price of an Air Canada Lounge Day Pass varies depending on the type of ticket you have. You can purchase access to the Air Canada Lounge when you book your flight.

  • Premium Economy: $35.92 ($49 CAD).

  • Latitude: $35.92 ($49 CAD).

  • Comfort: $43.25 ($59 CAD).

  • Flex: $57.91 ($79 CAD).
